Sharon Findlay-MacPhee started painting after she retired from the field of education/ communications. She works primarily in watercolour and pencil, and has received several awards in the East Hants Fine Arts Association annual art shows. Sharon credits artists/teachers Nancy Crowe Samson and Stacy Veno with helping to improve her skills.
Sharon and her husband Leonard live in a rural setting near Shubenacadie. Her art reflects the wildlife, birds and scenery around her, as well as that experienced on her travels. Her other major passion is music, having sung professionally in Halifax for many years. Sharon is known locally as a member and featured soloist with the East Hants Choral Society. Her paintings, drawings and art cards are found in local galleries and gift shops.
