2022 Summer Student Position
The MDDA and Gallery 215 are looking for a Gallery Manager for our 2022 summer season. This exciting employment opportunity starts in May (at the earliest convenience of the successful applicant) and runs until the end of August. This is a leadership position, and the successful candidate is expected to manage all aspects of Gallery operations under the guidance of the Board’s Gallery 215 Chairperson.
Candidates must be interested in visual arts, will preferably be enrolled in post-secondary education (although this is not a requirement), and must be between 15-30 years of age. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are required, as well as a high level of attention to detail. Retail experience is considered an asset. Proficiency in using office software applications and social media platforms (such as Instagram, and Facebook) is required. This position requires maturity and leadership to operate both independently and in a supervisory role. Candidates must be fluent in English and intermediate knowledge of French is considered an asset. Candidates should also be aware that they will be required to follow and enforce all existing Covid protocols throughout the summer as per Government of Nova Scotia regulations.
This position is non-permanent working 35 hours a week for 14 weeks from May to August. Both the start and end dates are flexible. Wage will be $14 – $15 per hour depending on experience. Applicants must be prepared to work weekends. Visit Gallery 215 on Facebook for more information about us.
