Nancy Crowe Samson loves to paint in watercolour. She is a long-time resident of rural Greenfield, Nova Scotia, where life is shared with art, Christmas tree farming, and family. She feels that the constant connection with nature keeps her well-grounded and passionate about expressing herself through art.
Beginning work in the commercial arts as a post-secondary student opened Nancy’s heart to more creativity. She fell in love with watercolour paintingas a hobby and entertainment while raising her young family. Now, the children are grown and have filled the house with grandchildren, but the love-affair continues. She is inspired to capture the simple things in life and encourages the viewer to stop and linger for a second look.
Nancy is a member of the Truro Art Society and the Attic Painters. She displays her art on a regular basis at the Marigold Cultural Centre in Truro. She has called the Marigold home to her watercolour classes, for the past seven years. It is a great pleasure for Nancy to share her joy of creativity with other like-minded people. She teaches classes several times a week throughout the year.
Nancy believes we are all ambassadors of this beautiful province and relishes the opportunity to showcase its unique and wonderful scenery through her watercolour paintings. Annually, Nancy shares her painting with the public at Gallery 215, in Selma, Nova Scotia.
