Our 2023 Season Begins on Saturday, May 20, 2023!
Gallery 215 is a seasonally operated gallery. This year is our 18th season of operation. We open to the public on Saturday, May 20, 2023, and remain open until Monday, October 9.
Gallery 215 is a project of the Maitland and District Development Association (MDDA), which envisioned the historic Selma Schoolhouse as a beautiful backdrop to showcase Nova Scotia artists. The MDDA restored the building, which now houses Gallery 215, a community-based art gallery where artists are not juried but accepted as space allows. We are pleased to present both professional and amateur artists who bring a range of artistic experiences to the gallery. Over the years, the number of artists we’ve represented has grown, and in 2023 we will be showcasing the work of more than 30 Nova Scotian artists.
Gallery 215 works to promote the art offered in our space and also our individual artists. All the artwork in the Gallery is for sale, and visitors will discover a wide range of sizes and subject matter within our walls. In addition to our original fine art offerings, we have a small selection of matted art prints by a few of our gallery artists and an amazing selection of art cards.
A portion of the proceeds of each sale goes to the Maitland & District Development Association (MDDA) to help maintain Gallery 215 and support a variety of other MDDA initiatives, including the annual Maitland Winter Festival, as well as the promotion of the shoreline.
