Our 2022 Operating Season: May 21st to September 25th
Gallery 215 is a seasonally operated gallery in its 17th season of operation. Our opening day is May 21st, open to the general public, until September 25th.
Gallery 215 is a project of the Maitland and District Development Association (MDDA), who envisioned the historic Selma Schoolhouse as a beautiful backdrop to showcase Nova Scotia artists. The MDDA restored the building with the concept of offering it as a community-based art gallery, where the artists are not juried but accepted as space allows. We are pleased to present both professional and amateur artists who bring a range of artistic experiences to the gallery. Over the years the number of artists we’ve represented has grown, and in 2022 we will be showcasing the work of ~30 Nova Scotian artists.
Gallery 215 works to promote the art offered in our space, and also our individual artists. All the artwork in the Gallery is for sale, and visitors will discover a wide range of sizes and subject matter within our walls. In addition to our original fine art offerings, we have a small selection of matted art prints by a few of our gallery artists and an amazing selection of art cards.
The proceeds of each sale go to the Maitland & District Development Association (MDDA). They contribute to the maintenance of Gallery 215, and a variety of other MDDA initiatives, including the annual Maitland Winter Festival, as well as the promotion of the shoreline.
